New Hold Wait Times in Overdrive/Libby

Have you been waiting to see when an e-book or audiobook you’ve requested via Overdrive or Libby will become available?

Good news! There are now two ways you can check to see when your requested item will become available.

Edit (1/22/19): Since this post was published, there is no longer a hold time wait projection listed on the Overdrive website.  It is still available in the Libby app. We will update again if this changes.

OverDrive Website

If you are using a web browser, navigate to the holds section of your Overdrive account. This can be accessed by going to the UHLS Overdrive website and clicking or tapping the bookshelf icon.

After you are signed in, click or tap on Holds in the left panel. You’ll see a list of all the items you currently have on hold.

Under your place in the queue, you will see the approximate wait time for a particular item.

Libby App

If you are using the Libby app (available on both the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store), tap on Shelf on the bottom right. Next, tap on Holds (located near the top left). Here you’ll see a screen with all the items you currently have on hold.

Next to Wait List, there is a row of dots. The more dots, the longer the wait time will be. To see specific information about the wait time for a particular item, tap on Wait List. A small popup will appear showing your approximate wait time, your place in line, and other information about the title.
